Real solutions for everyday challenges in accessibility and caregiving
From adaptive tools to product research and practical design ideas, we explore ways to make life easier, safer, and more independent.
Our mission is to empower people with disabilities and their caregivers through knowledge, creativity, and shared experience.
Meet the HandyCapable Homesteaders!

Hi, we are Rebecca and Philip, and we are so glad you're here.
We live on a small homestead in southern Maryland, where we grow vegetables, raise chickens and pigs, and tackle all kinds of DIY projects. We love what we do—but we've had to get creative about how we do it.
Rebecca:
I have Multiple Sclerosis, and over the years my body has needed more help to keep up with my plans. Between the two of us, we've learned that limitations don't mean giving up—they just mean finding a different way forward.
I come up with the ideas, and Philip figures out how to make them happen. Together, we've adapted our homestead and our lives so we can keep doing what brings us joy. This site is where we share what we've learned—the workarounds, the tools, the creative solutions—in case it helps someone else who's facing similar challenges.
Whether you're living with a disability, caring for someone who is, or just looking for practical ideas to make life a little easier, we hope you'll find something useful here. We're grateful you stopped by, and we're excited to share this journey with you.

WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT
We provide practical solutions and inspiration for people living with disabilities and their caregivers. Through our own experience with Multiple Sclerosis, we share DIY adaptations, product reviews, and real-life strategies for navigating daily challenges. We also show what's possible—from raising chickens and growing gardens to creating beautiful things—because limitations don't have to define your life.

Getting Resourceful
Sometimes your accessibility limits your activities, but when life is able to come to you and happen around you and you can see it growing and changing, you can feel a part of it even if you couldn't physically build it yourself.
